Nicole and I decided to take the kids on a little drive to Yellowstone Park last weekend. We drove up through Idaho and stayed in a pretty decent hotel in West Yellowstone.

Greatest Wife on the Planet

AddThis Social Bookmark Button

Really quick, I wanted to proclaim to the world (okay, to my few but consistent readership) that I have the greatest wife in the world. Not only did she remember fathers day, but she made it wonderful day for me!

It started with me sleeping in…WHOO HOO!!! Next, I was treated to our new family favorite, Strawberry and Banana covered German Pancakes, complete with Strawberry and whip cream toppings. (Owen, eat your heart out.)

The day then progressed with me lounging around the house, doing whatever floated my fancy (mostly sleeping as I was exhausted from late night freelance work), and hanging with the kids.

There was more, but that alone was a day to remember. Thanks my hot wife!

Let it snow…and…so forth and so on

Over the weekend we decided to keep up a tradition we have had over the past couple of years, to visit the fall leaves up Millcreek canyon after conference Sunday. Though we saw some pretty spectacular colors, we were more excited about the snow. Normally, we’re able to make it to the summit and park to do a little stroll up one of the trails. This time the roads were snow packed and we decided not to chance it. We were able to get some fun photos of the kids and family on our route back down. Incidentally, we happened across a group of college kids (from BYU I believe) who had driven their civic off the side of the road and gave them a ride down the mountain. Wasn’t that nice of us. “Yeah, please, come in to our “van” and experience the noise that is Beauen screaming his head off because he’s hungry…” I imagine those kids will have learned their lesson and will never get caught in that situation again.

Brianne’s first day at ballet class

I guess all that toe walking has paid off for our little princess. Since Brianne can literally walk on her toe knuckles (as she so often does around the house) I figured she be a quick learn at ballet.

Princess Aurora and the little old lady

One day, princess Aurora was in her father’s castle when all of the sudden Timon, her pet tiger, pounced up to her.

“Grrr grrr grrr, grr grrr grrowl”, said Timon the Tiger.

“Oh no!” said Princess Aurora. “Where?”

“Grrr, grrr grrr grrr growl grrr.” replied Timon the tiger.

“Then I must go and help.”

And off she ran, out the front door of the castle and down the streets to stop at the front door of a little old house.

Knock, knock, knock.

“Hello”, said princess Aurora. “Is anyone there?”

Nobody answered.

Knock, knock, knock. “Helloooooo…” she repeated.

And after waiting for a few minutes, she opened the door and began to walk in. Tiger Timon followed close behind to protect her from harm.

“Hello, what do you want?”

In the corner of the little house, a little old lady was laying on her bed. She looked so sick.

“What are you doing here?” Said the little old lady in a raspy, high pitched voice.

“I’ve come to help you out!” replied princess Aurora.

“I don’t need any help. I’m just a little under the weather” said the little old lady.

“But I’ve come to make you some dinner!”

And with that, the front door opened wide and all the princess’ personal chefs darted in the room and began opening cupboard, shuffling dishes and cooking dinner.

“I’m going to make you my favorite meal.” Said princess Aurora, “SpaghettiO’s®!”

With that, the chefs completed the ever so exciting meal and darted out the front door as quickly as they had entered.

“Here, try some.” urged princess Aurora.

“I don’t want any. That looks disgusting!” said the little old lady.

“But you’ll love it, its my favorite meal.” insisted princess Aurora.

“Fine! I’ll try it.”

The little old lady took a spoonful of the freshly prepared SpaghettiO’s® and carefully inserted it into her mouth.

“Mmmmmm!” this is delicious! I love these. I think I’ll have them every day from now on.

Princess Aurora smiled and hugged the little old lady, and slowly walked out the door as she waved goodbye to the little old lady.

“Our work is done here Timon” said princess Aurora, as she and tiger Timon hurried back to the castle to play more princess games.

The end.
