It appears speculations flying around about Google pulling it’s googlex labs page are true, thus I’ve decided to put an example of the slick and MACicized googlex page here.
Enjoy.

A version of the Google homepage that resembled the Mac OS X UIT appeared at http://labs.google.com/googlex/ but was taken down less then 24 hours after it was first posted on Google’s blog.
Here is a screen grab of it in case this link dies.
Yes, I did it. Months and months of procrastination and three nights of sleepless nights later and it’s now finally over. I actually thought I was going to fail the thing, but I ended up not doing so bad (according to my counselor.) Here’s the proof.

As this will already be stale for some of you I will spare the enthusiasm and get right to the point, this has to be one of the funniest voicemail messages I have ever heard. There are some questions whether or not it is legitimate, nevertheless it is hilarious and a must-hear.
Jon, one of the few MAC zealots at my place of employ, has a neat little application launcher for his dual-G5 called Quicksilver that I’ve been dieing to find for Windows. As it turns out, Quicksilver is only ‘made for MAC’. Well, I took the effort and found one that was close to it called AppRocket, and boy is it wonderful!
Well I guess I’ve learned my lesson (I hope) regarding open source software and maintaining versions. Especially ones that are so popular! Last week we were hacked. Since then I’ve patched my PHPBB version to the latest “stable” version. Hopefully (knock on wood), we’ll be somewhat safe. We did lose about 3 weeks of posts however, so I’ll be trying to remember what it was I had written about.
I decided to bring the LAMPS (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) installation tutorials to skowronek.org just in case the source versions are pulled for some reason. As I didn’t not actually write these, I take no credit or responsibility for their content.
I have relied on these tutorials for my Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP (LAMP) installations for the past couple of years. (For some reason I am always forgetting to do one thing or another.) I had thought I had lost the actual link to them that I had bookmarked, but was able to relocate the moved pages. So, to ensure that this never gets dropped (at least from my site) I’m creating a mirror of it.
As the I am not the original author, I take no credit nor do I take responsibility for them. I will host them for personal use and others who might need them as well.
